ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBSIDIZED CHILD DAY CARE PROGRAM

 

  • Pennsylvania resident
  • Parents and live-in companion working at least twenty (20) hours per week
  • Family income falls within the prescribed guidelines
  • U.S. citizenship (for the child only)

 

Families are responsible for a weekly fee based on income and number of people in the family.  Documentation of all income and work status is required to establish eligibility .. this could include current pay stubs, proof of child support from any non-custodial parent, or copies of profit/loss information from tax return if self-employed.  All additional income ... this could include workmen's compensation, Social Security and disability.....is also required to be reported.

If you are attending training and work at least 10 hours per week, the time spent in training will count toward the 20 hours per week work requirement.

Funding for teenage parents to complete their high school education is also available through the Child Care Information Services of Schuylkill County.  There is no work requirements for teen parents while they are attending high school.

 

WAITING LIST

If you are determined eligible for subsidized child care and there are currently no funds available, you will be placed on a county wide waiting list and notified when funds do become available.
